Steve turns 40

Good evening,

I have been very fortunate to have a son in law like Steve.  Today he turned 40 and I'm in total denial.  Just yesterday he was a teen with hair flowing, riding everything fast and hard, whether it was a bike or a car, even a motorcycle.  Even snow boarding on Mt. Hood.  Now he has become middle aged, what a shock.

Nikki put together a last minute party at Texas Roadhouse in Tracy and Jill, his special mom during his teen years and who lives in Tracy was there, Kevin, his long time friend, Jill's son and his little son were there.  Kevin's brother was there and of course Keanna and Kallie.  Texas Roadhouse is a very busy place with hundreds of people enjoying great meals and good service.

Since this is a place mostly dedicated to meat eaters one might wonder what Nikki and I could find to eat.  They have it covered with great sides so it was salad, baked potato, veges and water with lemon.

It was fun to watch Steve open his cards and presents.  Jason and Jo had sent a very clever gift, a Grateful Dead set of little ice cubes, vintage Steve and Nikki who used to go to their concerts but no go in, just mingle with all the followers who sold and exchanged things outside.

Today has been good, Keanna and Kallie came to visit this afternoon and watched TV, played at making things in the kitchen, had Popsicles and popcorn and Kallie even helped me use the vacuum when she spilled some popcorn.

Tomorrow morning I'm to take the bug to East County European Auto Repair for the new axle which had to be purchased from VW directly, at a cost of $448.  Freddie is installing the axle with no labor charges and I hope this is the end of the shaking which takes place all the time now.  Going up hills is really rather scary, it shakes so badly.

Also the part for my furnace is coming in so Sean can finish the repair of the furnace.  I'm ready for some automatic heat in the mornings, oh yes.

How are things with you the faithful reader?  Is your life progressing smoothly, no hitches?  Well probably not because life is not just smooth sailing at all.  But above us all and caring in a manner we can possibly fully understand is our Lord and Savior, He knows all yet cares in such caring ways for each of us.  Do I understand How He works?  Never but do I believe He cares, yes I do.

Sending love to all,

Tim
