Dear Family and Friends,
At long last Friday night has arrived. The fire is burning, the hot chocolate is finished and bed time is approaching.
This evening I heard from Patty, my dear neighbor, who told me a very tragic story. A friend of ours from the grief group who just lost her husband a short time ago and has had a string of bad things happening, her own recent heart attack and such lost her daughter this week through taking her own life. So Patty and I will attend a service tomorrow at 11 in the local church in support of our friend. There are such awful things happening in this world all around us. Oh that our Lord could come.
I've spent the day on the road. I left this morning for Pinole and inspected a home there. The wife was a Russian bride, it was easy to tell due to the accent and what she shared. She was beautiful and has two children, happily married and was a delight. So there is an option!
Then it was on to see a place in Richmond. Now Richmond is not that safe, lots of really bad people roaming the streets, one is always glad to be driving out of town. Well this time it was an enclave of nice two story homes on several streets, carved out of lousy neighborhoods and very appealing. The home was perfect and all the comps were right there in the neighborhood, fenced, some former streets that passed through have been blocked off, a little oasis in the middle of a pretty rough area.
Then it was off to Alamo, a totally different world. Nice homes, mature trees, wealth everywhere. A day of contrasts once again. Finally at about 4 I headed home and have been playing lazy ever since. i built a fire which was great for all evening and made a stir fry with mushrooms, brown rice, mixed vegetables and a few pieces of vege meat. The kind I purchased the other day at the conference office has NO taste, Won't be getting anything from that company again, cedar lake or something.
Well now its time for bed and a much deserved rest.
