A Super Day

Dear Family and Friends,

This has been one of those days in a person's life that cannot be repeated.  Nothing big and earth shaking happened but to spend hours with friends and fellow class mates from high school years and just talk, laugh, feel tears in your eyes and feel the warmth of a hug or a smile, well its very special.

I've heard so many stories of children, grandchildren, see and shared pictures, remembered together events that we each remember in our own way,  the food has been great, the walk along the bluff today on a trail that winds its way just above the rocks that are beaten constantly by the ocean waves.  There are benches to pause at and just drink in the relentless ocean, gulls flying overhead, whales in the distance and brave flowers still trying to bloom in spite of the cold that has settled over this part of the world.

I know everyone thinks there class was special but ours really is.  Judy Cate Anderson is the spark plug that pulls us all together and she has done it over and over again through the years.  Ed and Karen, owners of this wonderful Adobe Hotel, have treated us so well, everything that was needed has been supplied and with kindness and quality.  This is a first rate place and our stay has been perfect due to their class and professionalism.

This afternoon there was a session where one of the members of our class who operates and builds special facilities for those with dementia or other mind challenged seniors spoke and then took questions.  His presentation was excellent and really helped all of us understand what they do, how they do it and what may be in our futures.

This evening our dinner was excellent and the time afterwards was great as we sat in comfortable chairs and talked until past 10 pm.  Then some of us spent extra time with special friends all the while taking in the night scenes from the nearby ocean.

In the morning there is a brunch and then I'll be on the road to at least Jerry and Donna's house where I'll stop for a visit, they live half way home and it will be a nice break if they are home.  I do not look forward to driving 10 hours again but its worth it to have been here.  This is beautiful country, green and fertile with friendly residents and quaint buildings all along the road.

For those of you who urged to consider coming on the trip I thank you and for those who were concerned about the length of the drive, you were totally right, its a very long ways.  I pray for a safe trip home and send love to all, family and friends.  I'm really looking forward to seeing my 4 very precious kiddos and soon.

Love

Tim
